Thanks to new technologies and the experience achieved by Deltasolar, the company has managed to reach the goals set by bio-architecture researchers even for the summer season. These patented systems, acknowledged by various bio-architecture institutes, allow not only to heat during winter granting comfort and a fuel saving rate up to 25-30%, but they can also provide summer air-conditioning with optimal comfort and performances without the typical inconveniences of the traditional air-conditioning systems.
Since they are placed beneath the floor, Deltasolar’s radiant floors distribute evenly the heat and the cool air throughout the whole environment, providing an optimal comfort. This happens because they rely on irradiation between the temperature of the human body and that of the floors, which provide cool air during summer even to the walls: according to the laws of physics in fact, a warm body always disperses heat towards a colder body. Radiant floor cooling system allows to obtain a climate perfect for the human body by inducing a feeling similar to the one that can be felt when, during summer, you go to the cellar where the temperature of the walls is lower than the outer temperature: it is highly comfortable, and it is even better if the air is also dehumidified.
From the measurements taken inside our systems, we have noticed that, during summer, without air-conditioning, the floor and the walls have a temperature that is even higher than 29-30°C, while in the rooms the thermometer reaches even 33°C: it is like stepping inside an oven.
Sending throughout the circuits of the radiant floors water at a temperature comprised between 15-18°C according to the relative humidity, it is possible to cool down the floors to a temperature of 19-20°C. this way, with an outer temperature of 37-38°C, the inner temperature is reduced from 32-33°C to about 24-25°C, providing extreme comfort without any air movement. The radiant heat of the human body is absorbed by the colder floor (and walls), so a natural comfort is achieved, without the bothersome air currents typical of the air-conditioners, which provide a sensation of forced coolness and a noisy background. The energy consumption rate is about half than that of a traditional air-conditioning system. With specific probes connected to an electronic unit (calibrated in a custom way by Deltasolar’s technicians) can set the water temperature in order to avoid creating condensation phenomena on the floors. Using a chiller to produce cool water, it is also possible to dehumidify the air, achieving an optimal control with a minimum energy consumption: about 50% less than the traditional systems.
